Meet Our Associate Trainers
Meet Abbey.
Hi! I’m Abbey, a dog trainer in progress with a lifelong passion for helping dogs live their best lives. I provide adventure walks, in-home boarding, and medical boarding for dogs who need a little extra care, all in a safe, relaxed environment that feels just like home.
My journey with dogs started in shelters and rescue groups, where I fostered tough cases and learned firsthand the power of patience and purpose. Since then, I’ve worked in grooming and veterinary clinics, gaining a wide range of hands-on experience.
Today, I’m working toward my CPDT-KA certification while diving deeper into the world of dog behavior. I’m especially drawn to high-drive working breeds who need structure and fulfillment, but I also love helping pet dogs and their owners tackle common behavior challenges through clear communication and positive reinforcement.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me on the trail with my two dogs: Piper, my sport-loving Labrador, and River, my complex German Shepherd. We hike together every day, rain or shine—and I bring that same energy and commitment to every dog in my care.
While Abbey is working on achieving her dog training certifications, she services the following areas for dog walking, adventure walks, and limited in-boarding:
Upperville, Middleburg, Aldie, South Riding, Stone Ridge, and Prince William County.
What do we look for in a trainer?
We look for someone we find to be compassionate, empathetic, and willing to always learn. We believe that learning never ends. We seek people who are interested in science based, ethical methods and strive for certification. As an unregulated profession, anyone can call themselves a dog trainer. We intentionally seek out third party credentialing to ensure that our practices are backed by a governing body, our ethics are clear and straight forward, and you can learn about us through our credentials. You have a baseline understanding of our beliefs based on the credentials we hold.
If you are interested in working with us, have questions about credentials, or are curious about becoming a dog trainer, you are welcome to reach out! While we are not hiring at the moment, we are always happy to answer questions or chat about the process.
